Ottawa Valley Centennials Announce Affiliation with NCDC’s St. Croix Seawolves and Eastern Charlotte Kingfishers
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
July 14, 2025

Almonte, ON.
– The Ottawa Valley Centennials are proud to announce a new official affiliation with the St. Croix Seawolves and Eastern Charlotte Kingfishers, two National Collegiate Development Conference (NCDC) programs within the United States Premier Hockey League (USPHL). This partnership further strengthens the player development pathway between the Centennials’ USPHL Premier team and the tuition-free Tier II NCDC level.

As the Centennials prepare for their inaugural USPHL Premier season in 2025-26, this affiliation underscores the organization’s commitment to advancing high-level junior hockey players to the next stage of their careers.

“We’re incredibly excited to form this affiliation with the Seawolves and Kingfishers,” said Centennials President and Owner John Miotla. “Both organizations are deeply invested in player development and share our core mission: preparing young men for success in NCAA, ACHA, and professional hockey. By creating a direct advancement channel to the NCDC, we’re offering our players even greater visibility and opportunity.”

The St. Croix Seawolves and Eastern Charlotte Kingfishers are both Canadian expansion teams in the NCDC, the USPHL’s highest level and one of the premier tuition-free junior hockey leagues in North America. This affiliation provides Centennials players with a clearly defined upward path, while also granting NCDC affiliates early access to top Canadian prospects within the Ottawa Valley program.

“The affiliation with two top-tier NCDC programs is another way we’re raising the standard in our region,” said Miotla. “This allows our athletes to have exposure to higher levels while competing in the high-caliber USPHL Premier Canada Division. It brings the next level even closer.”

The Centennials will play out of the John Levi Community Centre in Almonte, Ont., located just 30 miles (50 kilometers) from Ottawa, Canada’s capital. The facility features a 500-seat arena, team locker rooms.

As the USPHL continues to expand its footprint in Canada, strategic partnerships like this one between Premier and NCDC organizations demonstrate the League’s continued commitment to creating a complete, transparent development ladder across North America.
