Centennials Sign Umberto Verdone for 2025-26 Season
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
August 30, 2025

Almonte, ON
The Ottawa Valley Centennials are excited to announce the signing of 2005-born goaltender Umberto Verdone for the upcoming 2025–26 USPHL Premier season. A native of Laval, Quebec, Verdone joins the Centennials after previously spending time with the Elmira Impact, Seattle Totems, and Somang in the USPHL Premier, where he gained valuable experience against strong junior competition.

Prior to his USPHL campaign, Verdone developed in the CSSHL with Bourget Collège, where he spent 2 years and posted a .910 save percentage in the CSSHL during the 2022–23 season. Umberto was also apart of 2 CSSHLE championship teams with Bourget at U17 & U18. That exposure to high-end Canadian prep hockey provided him the foundation to compete at the next level and further sharpen his technical game.

“Umberto is the kind of goaltender and person every team wants in their locker room,” said Team President John Miotla. “He’s competitive, resilient, and brings the type of leadership and reliability that helps a group succeed. We’re confident he’ll be an important piece of our team’s foundation this year.”

Verdone’s signing highlights the Centennials’ continued commitment to bringing in high-character, high-potential players who are prepared to excel at the USPHL level and beyond. With his background in the USPHL Premier, CSSHL, and dedication to his craft, the Centennials believe Verdone will quickly become a steadying force in net.
